Introduced in 1861 as Remington's first large frame navy caliber revolver, this extremely early example features low 2-digit serial number "13" on frame, barrel, and loading lever. 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel stamped on the top flat with 2-line Beals patent and Remington address. Dovetailed brass pin front sight and frame notch rear. Single wing cylinder pin as seen only very early production examples numbered under 200. 2-piece varnished walnut grips. CONDITION: Good. Revolver displays an even cleaned, freckled silvery patina with a few larger cleaned oxidation spots. Trigger retains traces of nitre blue. Trigger guard displays a mellowing golden patina. Grips have expected nicks and wear along the base with a repaired chip on the right toe. Strong, frosted bore. Fine mechanics.
