Per included factory research this rifle was originally received in the Winchester warehouse May 12, 1884, to ship with an octagon barrel, plain trigger, and half length magazine. Rifle sports a 24" blued octagon barrel chambered in .44-40 with 2-line address, German silver blade front sight, sporting rear, and half length button magazine. 3rd Model case hardened receiver. Upgraded checkered figured walnut forend and straight grip stock with sling swivels and tool trap crescent rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Good as restored and upgraded. Barrel retains the majority of its reapplied blued finish with thinning and high edge silvering. Receiver displays muted case colors as applied when restored. Stocks have only minor handling marks. Bore is strong and bright with some oxidation spots. Fine mechanics.
