Wonderfully made in French 19th-century style. The rich, lustrously nitre blued 6-shot cylinder is chambered for 2mm Pinfire ammunition and must be removed to reload. Hammer, spring, and trigger are also finished in beautiful nitre blue. The German silver band is engraved "LE PETIT PROTECTOR" on the underside along with wreath pattern. This example is accompanied by a French fit leatherette case with lid escutcheon engraved "LE PETIT / PROTECTOR" around a star motif. Case includes screwdriver and 3 rounds of ammunition. CONDITION: Very fine overall. Ring retains the majority of its brilliant blue with light wear and some freckling. Band has some mild patina spots as well but is otherwise fine. Case has some mild edgewear from storage and display, displaying very well. A wonderful, beautifully made curiosa.
