This revolver is the work of Hopkins and Allen. The top of the barrel is stamped LONE STAR NO 2. The left side of barrel is stamped N.Y.PISTOL CO. NEW YORK PAT APRIL 6, 1875. The engraving is typical Hopkins and Allen as is the revolver so it is referred to as a trade order gun made under contract. The revolver features an octagon barrel, nickel finish, factory engraved, case color hammer, five shot, spur trigger with Ivory grips. The hunting knife features a spear point blade with brass guard and ivory or bone handle. It is maker stamped J.D. CHEVALIER NEW YORK and comes with a leather sheath. This knife is not an original but is old. The blade measures 6 1/8" with overall length of 11". The handle has toned and has a stress crack. The blade has been sharpened. Sheath is intact. This set is housed in a repurposed walnut display box along with an empty box of Winchester .32 rimfire shells. CONDITION OF GUN. Excellent. Retains at least 80% nickel with areas of patina, especially in cylinder flutes. Grips are toned. Action indexes correctly. Rifling is visible but rough.
