An interesting World War I AEF uniform grouping to an officer who was part of the 339th Infantry Regiment. The grouping includes a summer weight uniform that consists of a jacket and trousers. The jacket features a theater made 339th patch with bullion "NRA" tab underneath. "USR" collar insignia, red discharge chevron, and gold service chevron. There are theater made 2nd lieutenant bars on each epaulette. Jacket is marked "Society Brand". Polar bear patch is about 50% separated. Scattered mothing. There is also a Sam Browne belt and a helmet that features the 339th insignia as well as camouflage. Helmet is complete with its liner and "FIT THE HEAD" tag. There are also 3 medals, a Legion of Merit, Silver Star, and Purple Heart. The Silver Star is numbered "97594" and the Purple Heart is numbered "123321". All medals are unengraved. There is also a M1917 trench knife marked "U.S. / L.F. & C. / 1917" on guard with a scabbard marked "JEWELL 1918". Blade with nice finish with the exception of drag lines. there are also various pieces of trench art, and several newspapers. Lastly, there is a naval sword that appears to depict the Imperial Russian cypher on the blade and guard. Sword exhibits a bright blade with dark patina to brass components. Scabbard exhibits flaking and surface cracks. CONDITION: Good.
