The Bundesheer was formed in 1920 as the peoples Austrian Army. After the second world war, the Bundesheer were re-armed with arsenal rebuilt WWII Walther P-38 semi automatic double action pistols. Parts were mixed, guns refinished, frame serial numbers added to match the slides and then issued much like our Cavalry over haul of 1890. All bear the BH stamp on the left side of frame. This example has the rare 480 code slide with Waffenampt acceptance 359 on right side. The arsenal evidently thought the 480 was a serial number instead of a code and they re-stamped the frame with matching number 480 on left side of frame & trigger guard mating to the 480 slide. Grips are black plastic. Barrel is import stamped. Metal is arsenal reblued. Comes with one magazine. CONDITION. Fine as redone showing holster, high edge and muzzle wear. Legends are sharp. Grips are excellent. Double action works correctly. Bore is bright.
