"The service revolver model 1873 Chamelot-Delvigne was the first double-action revolver used by the French Army. It was produced by Manufacture d'armes de Saint-Étienne from 1873 to 1887 in about 337,000 copies" wiki. This example is dated 1876 on the octagon barrel. Finish is in the white. It is a six shot, double action with checkered wood grips, lanyard ring, non fluted cylinder. Maker legend found on right side of frame. Model 1873 engraved on top of barrel. Comes with a 1940 dated web holster. All visible matching numbers. CONDITION. Excellent. The white metal has toned. The loading gate is blued so probably replaced. Legends are crisp. Action works fine. Bore is bright. The chamber has been reamed to accept the .45 Auto Rim cartridge.
