These large pistols measure 10" overall. The barrels are all round and fire-blued, displaying a Liverpool proof on left side of each barrel. Muzzles rifled transitioning into smoothbore. Scalloped brass boxlock tap-actions with selection levers on left sides. Engraved tang safeties. Right sides of actions engraved with large panoplies of arms with "LIVERPOOL" in oval cartouches. Left sides engraved 'en suite' and displaying "HOLMES" in cartouches. Bottoms of actions stamped with 2 Liverpool proof marks on each pistol. Engraved iron triggerguard bows. Fine figured Circassian walnut grips with diamond section checkering wrapping around spines and vacant silver oval wrist escutcheons. CONDITION: Very good and crisp overall, showing very little use. Barrels retain much of their original fire-blued finish. Both actions are very strong and function properly. Actions retain a very pleasing brown mustard patina. Grips very good with some minor scattered storage marks. A scarce pair of large bore tap-action pistols in remarkable condition.
