Manufactured 1886. This deluxe model features Circassian oil finished, round knob, checkered stock with matching splinter forearm. An old deflated Whippet waffle pad was added to the uncut stock. The barrels are of the finest patterned Damascus browned steel with wonderful pattern and no visible dents. They are stamped "COLTS PT. F.A.CO. HARTFORD U.S.A." on the rib. The case color box lock frame shows some light factory engraving. The forearm hardware is also lightly engraved and has an ebony inset. Also features double triggers and top safety. CONDITON: Fine. The barrels have a clean brown pattern, just thinning near the muzzle, and a few age spots. Frame colors are bright inside but have patterned and silvered out on the exterior with a flash of color. Crisp legend at base of receiver reads "PATENTED Aug,22 1882 Sep 19". The blue trigger guard is smooth patina. The deluxe checkering on both the stock and forearm is still quite crisp. Stock retains most of the finish with usual scattered impressions. Action is tight. Bores are bright. Both strikers engage. Their demise is rumored that they were the best shotguns made in America and were too expensive to fend off the competition.
