Lot consists of: (A) Narrow First Type experimental US M1876 Prairie Belt with inside leather strap for the accommodation of the M1873 trowel bayonet. The interior of the belt is stamped with "3M R.I.A. / EXPERIMENTAL". The leather billet remains supple as does the interior strap. There are some areas of loss to the billet and light crazing on the strap. Buckle exhibits a mellow patina. All loops are present and remain intact. CONDITION: Very Good. (B) Standard Type 1 M1876 Prairie Belt for use with the .45-70 cartridge. There appears to be a faint arsenal stamp on the leather billet which is obscured due to crazing. The leather billet is a bit stiff but is still able to be rolled. Buckle exhibits a pleasing patina. All loops are present and remain intact. CONDITION: Very Good.
