65.5cm nagasa (approximately 25 - 3/4") of shinogi zukuri form, with yokote polished out. No visible grain or temper, mumei nakago with a single drilled mekugi-ana, roughly finished. Roughly finish habaki, with plain fuchi, kashira, kabuto gane, and spring clip. Saya with hanger and leather cover, with plain finished koiguchi en suite with mounts. Consignor states that his father brought this sword back in 1945, which may explain the roughness of piece as a late war example. CONDITION: Blade with scattered areas of mossing and a "frosted" appearance. Mounts are good with some rubs and patina, saya has some handling marks and scrapes, and a minor tear adjacent to suspension ring. An interesting sword.
