Spurious DWM Model 1906 Bulgarian contract luger. Receiver is stamped with a later applied Bulgarian coat of arms over the chamber area, with what appears to be the trace remnants of a "(Crown)/ N" commercial nitro proof on the left side. Toggle bears the intertwined DWM monogram. Left side of frame has a spurious Cyrillic safety marking. Major metal components have been nicely reblued, with strawed components having been reheated. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching, with most components having their original serial numbers overstamped, exhibiting traces of their former serial numbers below. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as entirely refinished, with blued components exhibiting scattered spots of pitting present beneath the finish. Strawed components are en suite. Bright bore, exhibiting mild pitting and retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and scattered nicks/impressions to the diamonds, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable.
