63cm nagasa of classic shinogi zukui form with a one piece copper habaki and suguha temper. Kurijiri nakagojiri with higaki yasurime, katana mei signed "Fujiwara Kanenaga" and "Made using stainless steel". Born Kawamura Eijiro in 1887, developed the stianless gunto and is noted for his skill at engraving. Died 1943, succeded by his son Kawamura Hiroshi as the second Kanenaga. Rated 1.5 million yen in Slough; cf. pg. 51. Classic Type 98 furniture, painted army brown with gilt edges. With a piece of leather through sarute, with a blue and brown tassel for a company officer. CONDITION: Good. Blade is out of polish, with some surface level scratches and some chips and pockmarks to cutting edge. With an inventory note indicating it had a surrender tag signed Tanaka Royusuke Sakai, now absent.
