68.1cm (approx. 26 - 7/8") nagasa of shinogi zukuri form, with classic Mino sanbonsugi temper line. Grain appears to be muji hada. Boshi out of polish, but looks like a form of maru. Signed "Noshu Seki Ju Kaneyuki Saku" (trans. Kaneyuki of Seki City in Noshu Province made this) with a hot stamp. Hot stamp characters are indistinct. Ubu nakago with two mekugi-ana (holes in tang) with kurijiri. Brass washed copper habaki, classic Type 98 gunto mounts, with a second hole in the tsuka to accommodate the second mekugi-ana, which appears original. CONDITION: Blade with a visible temper line and some scattered mossing, particularly towards boshi and approximately 3" up from habaki. Some other surface scratches and minor pinpricking. Not in traditional polish. Mounts are good with some rubs, sa-me with some cracks, and scrapes to bare metal, but present well.
