25.4cm nagasa of hira zukuri form with iori mune, with kuri nakagojiri, ubu, mumei. Jihada is mokume mixed with some masame, especially towards mune, with areas of chikei. Gunome hamon with a ko-maru boshi. Later cast tsuba depicts clouds with a dragon interwoven. Fuchi with a carved dragon amongst clouds, accented with gold, later menuki with a dragon motif. Polished horn kashira. Kozuka depicts a dragon, executed in katakiribori, with golden eyes, signed on rear; no papers. Saya with a finely textured ground, and koguchi depicting a dragon amongst clouds with an inome intrusion. CONDITION: Very good, in polish, with some minor handling marks and superficial scratches to blade, and some very minor scattered ware. Mounts are good with some expected rubbing and evidence of age. Kozuka very good. Saya with chipping throughout and a crack across ha side. A well presenting set with an interesting kozuka.
