Circa 1972 per serial number. Classic configuration with blade front sight and Elliason square notch rear sight. Typical legends for a Mark IV Series 70, with serrated small parts, narrow hammer, skeletonized trigger with adjustable overtravel, long A1 grip safety, flat serrated mainspring housing, and fully checkered walnut grips with inset golden Colt medallions. In two piece Colt box with wax paper wrap and factory paperwork; end label correctly identifies this gun by serial number. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the factory finish switch some minor handling marks and thinning to sharpest edges. Left side of slide shows some discoloration, mostly around the front sight. Mechanically fine, bore with strong, sharp rifling and very light frosting. Box excellent with some scratpes and peeling to edges commensurate with wear. A nice example.
