Circa 1895. A vintage and rare rifle by Holland & Holland with 26" blacked dovetail barrels. Barrels are fully rifled and are built with extractors, finely filed quarter rib with two folding leaf sights regulated for 50/150 and 200 yards. Both leaves with gold line markers. Rib is smooth down to the front sight, which is a bit larger and more round than a blade front sight. Sight with a white tip. Rib with dolls head extension engraved with a “2”. Right barrel reads “HOLLAND & HOLLAND 98 NEW BOND STREET. LONDON.”. Left barrel reads “WINNERS OF ALL THE "FIELD" RIFLE TRIALS 1885.” Barrel bottoms are stamped "19202", "H2500", "12". Barrel flats stamped "577 EX", "GI9IP", and with London proofs. Bottom rib with loop for sling. Jones underlever hammer rifle with light border scroll case colored frame, rebounding locks, double triggers, and rear peep sight. Front trigger is articulated. Trigger guard is blacked with light border scroll and is engraved with the rifle serial number "19202" at bottom of tang. Left side of action frame reads “CHARGE 7 DRAMS 20/577 BOTTLE CASE 2 3/4 Inches”. Locks read “HOLLAND & HOLLAND”. Handsome reddish brown walnut stock with fully checkered pistol grip with horn plate is designated with a beaded cheekpiece, vacant golden oval, loop for sling and finished with a 1/2” orange rubber pad. Action and top of grip with long top strap. Splinter forend with matched checkering and checkered lever release. Exterior iron metal with border scroll. Interior iron metal is hardened and reads with serial number “19202”. Rifle resides in its newer oak and grey/blue leather hide case. Case with paper Holland & Holland trade label white handled tools, and cleaning accessories. Accompanied by reloading molds, dies, and brass, and copies of "The British Bore Rifle" and "The Double Rifle Primer". CONDITION: Excellent as refurbished. Barrels are excellent. Barrels missing low light flip up sight. Action is sound. Stock very good. Stock with some handling marks and pad may need to be replaced as rubber has hardened and begin to slightly split. Forend is excellent. Case and tools are all excellent. PROVENANCE: Cal Pappas Collection

CORRECTION: The barrels have been reblued and the stock is a restock.
