Manufactured in 1887 and shipped from the factory July 2nd, 1890 in a shipment of 1 gun to Kennedy & Curtis in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Shipments of 1 gun can indicate special order. Accompanying factory letters dated both May 3, 2024 and February 22, 1993 confirm configuration as a 7 - 1/2" barrel chambered in .45 Colt with nickel finish, and stocks as "Not Listed", typically meaning that the revolver was fit with whatever grips were standard for the era. In 1887, when this gun was built, standard for the period grips would be checkered hard rubber (gutta percha) with an eagle and Rampant Colt on either side. Other features include blackpowder frame, single line barrel address, and original front sight. Gun is housed in a modern attractive leather wrapped hardwood case with red velvet lining French fit for a Single Action Army complete with a 40 round wooden cartridge block. CONDITION: Excellent for its age with 80-90% original nickel remaining with minor losses and freckling, most notably near front sight and on cylinder. Grips are in commensurate condition with no major signs of distress. Action is tight and crisp with all 4 hammer stops. Bore is lightly frosted with well-defined rifling.
