Manufactured in 1863. Single line address on top of the barrel "ADDRESS COL. SAML. COLT NEW YORK U.S.A. AMERICA". On the left front of the frame is "COLT'S / PATENT". Matching full serial numbers on the barrel assembly, frame, trigger guard, and the backstrap. The last four digits of the serial number are on the wedge and arbor. It comes cased with the following accessories: powder flask, bullet mold, nipple wrench, ammunition packet cap tin, and some round lead balls. The case has a blue felt interior. The key is present and the lock works. CONDITION: This gun retains approximately 90% of the original blue finish. There is some holster and high edge wear. Mechanically as new. Untouched true screw heads. The cylinder has brown patina starting bleed through the bright blue finish. Vibrant case color with some of it turning silver. The brass trigger guard and back strap have a pleasing mellow color. The action works and indexes fine. Most of the original varnish remains on the one piece wood grip that fit precisely. It shows some slight handling marks. Good bore with well defined lands and grooves. The case and accessories are in very fine condition. A simply stunning mid war set.
