This sword is pictured and described as plate 78.SS on page 329 of "Battle Weapons of the American Revolution" by George C. Neumann. The credit states that it is in the "Author's Collection. The sword retains its original signed George C. Neumann yellow collection tag with drawing and description. The slightly curved American-manufactured blade is unfullered. The pewter guard has a trifed quillon and a pommel reminiscent of an eagle's head. The bone grip is octagonal. CONDITION: Blade retains a light brown patina. Hilt retains a pleasing dark patina on pewter. Grip shows a few hairline age cracks. A very nice documented completely American made sword.
