Manufactured in 1939. This model is instantly recognizable due to the oversize checkered walnut grips with the silver medallion commonly called Elephant Ear grips. The left side of the barrel is stamped MATCH TARGET with the large bulls eye. The left side frame has the Woodsman legends while the slide has the Colt legend. This flat side also features a target adjustable rear sight and a double pinned target front sight. Gun is finished in standard two tone blue with non-glare finished top. Comes with one tempered two tone magazine stamped CAL 22 COLT. CONDITION: Fine. The grips have sharp checkering and look nice but there are interior repairs on both panels barely visible from outside. The gun has seen use and retains approximately 75% blue with overall high edge wear, some scattered rubs, etc. The legends are sharp. The bore is shiny. Not investment grade but one you can shoot without regrets. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
