September 10-12, 2024 Firearms & Militaria
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/10/2024
Back prior to May 19, 1986, a licensed manufacturer could legally take an original cut-up machine gun receiver, and carefully weld it back together, place their own required manufacturer’s markings on it, and notify the BATF they had manufactured a fully transferable machine gun. This is one such specimen. One can barely discern the presence of the original Sterling markings and serial number on the top of the magazine housing underneath the powdercoat finish applied during remanufacture. Manufacturer’s markings clearly on the left side of the receiver tube. One original magazine is included with this gun. There is a cap screw on the underside of the silencer which firmly holds it in place on the now threaded trunnion of this gun. The Sterling is a very popular recreational select-fire machine gun. Electronic NFA registry indicates “OEFINGER, DOUGLAS DBA DLO MFG” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent powder coat finish upon remanufacture. Bores is near excellent, shiny and bright with some firing residue. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. A great pistol caliber machine gun set up for recreational or competitive shooting. THIS LOT INCLUDES TWO NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEMS AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THESE ITEMS ARE FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON TWO SEPARATE TRANSFER ATF FORMS 3 OR 4. JWK 2024-09-092.
