Double Sided Wood. Maker Marked "Smith-Martin Copyright 1938 Union Oil Company of California." This C. 1930's double sided wood circular sign from Triton Motor Oils features a wonderful oil can graphic and the iconic company colors. CONDITION: Side 1 shows a few surface scuffs in in the field. The worst of the damage is color loss to the two mounting holes near the bottom center of the sign. The outer edges show general wear with occasional paint loss (8.25). Side 2 remains in similar condition with surface scuffs in the field, but nothing detracting from the appeal of the graphic. The two mounting holes show porcelain loss and wear from where this sign was mounted to a bracket at some point in the past. The outer edges show general wear- the worst of which is a chip to the wood on the right outer border (8.0).
