Manufactured in the United States to fulfill a World War I Imperial Russian contract. Although reworked, rifle remains largely in WWI configuration with mixed numbers, blued finish, blade front sight, early style rear, hex receiver, and finger groove walnut stocks. Front band is not present. Butt plate marked with a "R.81.i." unit marking, likely Austrian. Import marked on the receiver. CONDITION: Fair. Strong, frosted bore.
