LOT OF 2: BRITISH CRIMEAN WAR AND LATE VICTORIAN FORAGE CAPS.

Lot consists of: (A) Victorian era officer's 1880 pattern forage cap of the York & Lancaster Regiment. Composed of dark blue melton cloth. Black leather visor with thick silver bullion trim. Gold lace band around the center and a bullion Regimental cap badge. Crown exhibits bullion rosette with matching lace decoration. Scattered light mothing. Bullion with nice patina. Interior is lined with purple silk and exhibits the "HAWKES & Co." gold embossed label. Leather sweatband remains intact and supple with some separation. Lining exhibits some separation toward front. Black leather chin strap. The hat is housed in its black storage tin which has re-painted exterior and original japanned interior. CONDITION: Very good. (B) Crimean War era officer's forage cap. Composed of dark blue melton cloth. Black leather visor. Crown exhibits bullion rosette and braid decoration. Scattered light mothing. Bullion with nice patina. Interior is lined with brown cloth. Leather sweatband remains intact and supple but is mostly separated. Lining exhibits some stains and light tears. Black leather chin strap. CONDITION: Good.
