LOT OF 2: COCA-COLA DOOR PANEL FEATURING HARLEY MAY ON WAR PAINT AND FRAMED PICTURE
Lot consists of: A) Large (76" x 36") plexiglass vending machine insert of World Champion Harley May on the famous bucking horse "War Paint." The original factory protective peel-off coating is still on the plexi. B) Large framed hand tinted rodeo photo taken by DeVere Helfrich in 1959 of May aboard War Paint at the Angels Camp Rodeo finals. This was the image that Coca-Cola used in its promotional campaign. included is photos and articles related to War Paint and the interesting and convoluted story of May getting reimbursed by Coke for using his likeness.
