Lot consists of: (A) Attractive American eagle pommel sword with spadroon blade that is ornately fire blued and decorated with gold washed patriotic motifs. The blade is decorated for about half its length with the obverse featuring elegant foliage scrollwork and a liberty capped panoply of arms. The reverse is equally elegant and is decorated with scrollwork as well as 6-pointed stars that surround a beautiful federal eagle. Straight crossguard that terminates with a rounded quillon. 5-ball knucklebow which connects to a detailed eagle head pommel. Fluted bone grip which is secured by the pommel and a lower ferrule. CONDITION: Blade exhibits evidence of an earlier polishing after the fire blued panels, as evidenced by cleaned pitting. Fire blued panels retain generous amounts of their finish with mostly unmolested decorations. Hilt with nice patina and no major cracks to the grip. (B) An equally attractive eagle pommel sword with spadroon blade. Ornately fire blued panels which feature gold washed decorations adorn the blade. The decorations are similar on each side and feature scrollwork and a panoply of arms at the center. 5-ball crossguard with matching 5-ball knucklebow that connects to the open mouth eagle head pommel with nice details and pronounced forehead. Nice line engraved bone grip. CONDITION: Blade exhibits a light patina with fire blued panels that retain most of their original finish. Hilt exhibits a nice patina with no cracks in the bone grip. A nice set of swords which were formerly part of the Allan Klein Collection.
