Included is a fully-jointed doll, completely original, with bisque socket head incised "21 Germany R 3 A". She has blue glass sleep eyes, an open mouth with four upper teeth, a dimple in her chin, well-painted upper and lower lashes and one-stroke eyebrows. Originally strung to the fully-jointed wooden composition body with straight wrists, with the two wires coming up through the torso and looping over the back of the head, as was common for dolls of this type and period. She wears an original two-piece cotton print dress, a light brown curly mohair wig, an original woven straw hat with blue gauze ribbon on the side. She has no shoes or socks, characteristic of this era to economize as much as possible, only the lower arms and lower legs are painted. The upper legs, torso and upper arms have a white basic varnish, but are unfinished, as it was assumed that the clothing would cover this and there would be no need to put in extra work when none was theoretically necessary. In addition, there is a Grace Putnam "Bye-Lo" baby, with blue glass sleep eyes, closed mouth and on a cloth body with composition hands and lower legs, starting with the knee down. This body is not typical, as they are usually cloth with celluloid hands, with this body more the type one would more likely find on a "Bonnie Baby". Unfortunately, the head on this doll is completely professionally restored. Although done well, it must be brought to the attention of any potential buyer. Clothing is antique, complimentary and of the period. 14" each.
