Lot is comprised of: A) Fusil socket bayonet, probably British mid 18th century. Measures only 6-1/2" overall with a flat 5-3/8" clip point blade. Socket opening is 7/8" in diameter on the inside and is 1-9/16" long. These bayonets are often found stored in the butts of flintlock English officer's fusils, either under the buttplates or in an opening trap door on the back of the buttplates. Good condition with a spotted brown and grey patina, some minor chipping to edge. B) Brass folding 18th century knife stamped "I.E. HORN" on left side of blade. Measures 4-7/16" closed and 7-5/8" open with a 3-1/4" blade, left side marked "I.A.I.S." and "I.E. HORN".Brass two-piece grips fastened by iron rivets. Very good condition, brass retains a dark mustard patina with some marks from use and casting flaws. Blade retains a grey patina and shows some sharpening and a few minor nicks on edge.
