The first is a large gold filled very ornate presentation knob cane with inscription, which reads "Presented to R. B. Richardson by the members of the Pacific Stock Exchange as a token of friendship". The ornate handle is 2 - 3/4" high and 1 - 3/4" across the top. It is mounted on an ebony shaft with a 1 - 3/4" metal ferrule. The overall length is 35 - 1/2". It is in excellent condition. The second is a c. 1891 large ornate gold filled knob presentation cane with hallmark and inscription, which reads "Presented by the S C A to their Pres'dt [name illegible] may 5 1891". The ornate handle is 2 - 7/8" high by 1 - 3/4" across the top. The hallmark is as follows: 2 S (with heavy line going through it) 99 4 X K The handle is mounted on a shaft of ebony with a 1 - 1/8" ferrule. The overall length is 37" and the condition is excellent.
