Lot consists of: (A) M1855 sword bayonet for the M1841 rifle. The bayonet is unmarked except for an "H" inspector mark that is stamped on the hilt. The bayonet is constructed of a steel blade and a solid brass handle. CONDITION: Blade exhibits pitting and blemishes on both sides. brass handle remains bright with visible service wear. The locking mechanism is stiff but functional. Overall good. (B) M1841 sword bayonet. The bayonet is unmarked except for the number "571" on the top of the socket. The bayonet is constructed of a steel blade and a solid brass handle. CONDITION: The blade exhibits a dark patina with pitting and blemishes throughout both sides. The handle also exhibits a dark patina with visible service wear. The locking mechanism is functional. Overall fair.
