Both are lovely and are from the Sonneberg region of Germany. Both have closed mouths made in the French style, both with closed, almost solid flat domes, the larger of the two incised "183". That doll has brown paperweight fixed eyes, pierced ears and is on an all wood and composition fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Nicely attired and wearing a newer but well-made white curly sheepskin wig. The smaller of the two, 12 - 1/2", has an open / closed mouth with tiny molded upper teeth with light blue threaded glass eyes, known to collectors as the so-called "Circle / Dot Bru". She too is on a fully-jointed wooden composition body with straight wrists and has no incised marking other than a "3" at the base of the neck. She wears a two-piece peach silk and lace dress made in 1870's style with fringe attachments, brass buttons and also a newer but well made sheepskin wig with high bonnet and feathers. CONDITION: Both dolls very good other than the larger doll, the "183", which has a tiny eye flake in the outer corner of the right eye. Very small, but present.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: Larger: 15 - 1/2" x 7 - 1/2" x 5 - 1/2".
