Lot consists of (A) Framed Wester Union Telegram addressing the death of former United States 31st President Herbert Hoover. The telegram is addressed to the residence of urologist and renowned collector Dr. John K. Lattimer. Accompanying the telegram in the same frame is a ticket to Hoover's funeral. Before his death in 1964, Hoover had requested the help of Dr. Lattimer regarding medical problems he was having. Lattimer was a known collector and realized the value of keeping these items. The frame measures approximately 12 - 1/4" x 12 - 3/4". CONDITION: The telegram has yellowed but message remains legible. Frame with handling wear. (B) Hardback 1940 copy of "Further Address Upon The American Road 1938-1940" by Herbert Hoover and signed on the first page by Herbert Hoover. CONDITION: Dust jacket is worn, book appears to be complete with all pages. Handling and reading wear. (C) Hardback 1938 copy of "Address Upon The American Road 1933-1938" by Herbert Hoover and signed on the first page by Herbert Hoover. CONDITION: Handling and shelf wear, book appears to be complete with all pages. Yellowing of pages and areas of staining. Both books will come with James Spence Authentication Full Letters of Authenticity.
