June 12-13, 2019 Edged Weapon, Armor, & Militaria
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2019
Lot consists of: (A) Hungarian Model 36M, Kézigránát “Vecsey”, an offensive grenade made of sheet steel and having an impact fuze. This one is in very good condition with remnants of the red bands which indicated the explosive model, and has the pin and leather pull tab present. (B) Soviet F1 design, but based on the markings of the UZRGM fuze this one is of Bulgarian manufacture. The fuze has the Bulgarian factory code of 61 and the date of 77. No markings were observed on the grenade. While the grenade is in excellent physical condition, the original paint is moderately worn from handling, as is the finish of the fuze. (C) The Russian World War II RGD-33 was issued as a defensive grenade, but could easily be turned into an offensive grenade by removing the fragmentation sleeve. Constructed like a heavy steel can, its sheet metal body is built entirely of sheet metal stampings. The grenade has an over complicated fuze mechanism which is internal to the handle and the central body. This example is in very good to fine condition with moderate wear on the paint and the body components present and in good condition. The roll crimp of the body shows slight damage where the grenade was inerted, but is in better condition than most seen.
