Lot consists of: (A) An unusual and difficult to identify grenade, this is recognized as a variation of the Korean A-3 grenade used during the Korean War. In appearance the grenade is similar to a slightly shorter copy of a US MKII. A metal loop for attachment of a lanyard is cast into the side near the top, and a red bakelite fuze with a pin and pull twine runs through the fuze body. While most references identify the grenade as South Korean, at least one source states that it is from North Korea. The grenade is not an exact match to those depicted in references, but noting how crude the design is, differences are attributed to the lack of manufacturing control of the time and location, etc. The fuze well on this grenade is too large for a MKII, but a UZRGM will partially thread into the body. (B) While very similar to the Japanese Type 98, the markings on this grenade allow it to be identified as a Chinese Type 67, made at factory 652. This grenade is from the 60s-70s and is in excellent condition. It has the standard cylindrical head with great paint, the screw on cop is in place and in very good condition and the markings are legible. (C) There is no information is available on this improvised grenade. It was grouped with the items from Vietnam, but no information is attached nor provenance available.
