Comprising: (A) An early first quarter of the 19th century British artillery powder horn, branded on the body with a large broad arrow over "B O". The wooden plug has a turned, threaded knob in the center and there are 2 iron eyelets attached to the body for carrying strap attachment. The horn measures about 12" overall, including the cone-shaped pouring spout. CONDITION: Brass charger is slightly loose. Shows some wear to marking and some minor cracking and losses at bottom around plug. (B) A small York County, Pennsylvania priming horn, measuring about 7" overall with a turned wooden plug and double lines engraved on the horn just above the plug. CONDITION: Very good, showing some minor marks from use and a tiny hairline crack at the spout. (C) A large screw-tip powder horn attributed to Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. This horn measures about 13" overall, the horn body has a green hue, and there is a large iron staple towards the spout for a carry strap. The turned tip appears to be a good, professional replacement. The turned wooden plug is also painted with 2 bright orange stripes and there is a large iron staple in the center at the top. CONDITION: Appears as-found with dark patina, showing some scuffing and scattered marks from use. Plug has one chip and shows some smoothing from wear. Rings toward spout show some wear. DMG
