Lot consists of: (A) Full-tang large American butcher knife. 6 small copper rivets hold wood slab handles in place. No maker mark. (B) Large American skinning/butcher knife with attractive ebony slab grips laid with three brass stars on each side. Maker stamped, "FOSTER BROTHERS / (hand pointing to star) / MADE IN U.S.A." These are typical of the large knives that came in frontier or buffalo skinning sets. (C) Large butcher knife with false edge. Left hand blade panel stamped, "RUSSELL / GREEN RIVER WORKS." Full-tang with 6 small steel pins in hardwood slab handles. CONDITION: Good overall with solid handles and typical period sharpening to blades.
