A steel guard No. 6 double-guard wire-bottom lantern made by The Railroad Signal Lamp & Lantern Co. "L.V. R. R." is lightly embossed on the lid reflector. The bayonet fount is correct for this model and has a No. 2 ratchet burner affixed. The bail is a replacement. The frame was cleaned and overcoated long ago. The cobalt blue globe is a beautiful 6" extended base example, embossed "L V R R" in serif font and in average relief. The globe shows little sign of RR use and is excellent, with good color translucence.
