Paint of a cowboy firing backwards from horseback while being pursued by Native Americans, a very popular Western theme during the 1950s and 1960s. Paintings like this were heavily influenced by Remington, Russell, and Hollywood Western films. These were typically used in furniture stores, hotels, Western decor retailers, ranch homes, lodges, steak houses, motels, an overall iconic and action-packed piece. Set in a flush-mount frame about 6" deep. Signed and dated in bottom-right corner "Lyle and Ruth Atkinson -'64-". CONDITION: Overall very good condition with some slight scuffs and scrapes that possibly could be cleaned up.
