Lot consists of three Morse Patrol badges from San Francisco, California. Badges are rhodium-nickel plate in a standard 6-point configuration. Morse Detective Agency was instrumental in the capture of Black Bart and various other mid-1800s California "Old West" criminals. They continued in service for many years after as a strong local Bay Area private law enforcement agency. Period accounts state that many of the Morse Patrol were former San Francisco Policemen. The agency had close working ties and city contracts with the San Francisco city government into the 1950s. Heavy locking safety-pin attachments on reverse. CONDITION: Badges are very good overall, with some showing minor surface wear and plating discolored spots, as well as thinning to some black lettering.

Item Dimensions: Each: 2 - 3/4" x 3".
