Over/under barrels with wide rib are marked for Super-Chromovan construction and German nitro proofs, while chamber flat is dated coded HK for 1978, and also marked for German nitro proofing at Ulm, Krieghoff manufacture and .30-06 caliber designation. Blade front sight on a raised island with matted ramp, flat top U notch rear sight dovetailed into a quarter length rib with matting en suite, and made with integral claw mount attachment mounts, currently fit with a Zeiss Diavari-Z 3-12x56 FFP scope with duplex reticle. Scope mounts and bolsters are engraved with classic German oak leaves on a stippled ground. Round nose forearm with skipline point pattern checkering with central Deely release, and engraved oak leaves at exterior iron, marked "379" on interior. Sideplated boxlock action with deep chisel cut engraving with oak leaves throughout, and game scene vignettes depicting elk, both cows and a bugling bull, right with a pair of dogs chasing down a boar and sow, bottom with a grizzly bear. Engraving is deeply and well cut, signed "GR" on left plate. Action wings with serial number, German nitro proof, and Simpson import mark. Gold washed small parts on interior of action. Double Kersten locks, non-automatic safety, cocking indicators abutting lever, gold washed double triggers, front set, protected by a short tang horn trigger guard. Bavarian dropped walnut pistol grip stock of a fairly restrained straight grain with 2 panels of skipline checkering at the wrist, a pancake cheekpiece, steel pistol grip cap with "WS" initials relief carved, and a 4-bullet trap with oak leaf engraving. Stock terminates in a black and white line spacer and Pachmayr basketweave recoil pad. Sling swivels on a sweated-on island on bottom barrel and on toeline. CONDITION: Very good, with virtually all of the reapplied blue finish retained on the barrel, with some minor handling marks. Action with the vast majority of the coin finish throughout, with some silvering to high points and tarnishing in recesses and crisp, well cut engraving. Stocks are very good with a somewhat dry appearance and some handling marks from the field, but free of cracks or chips. Mechanically fine, bores are very good with strong rifling and mild frosting. Glass is clear and throws cleanly.
