Manufactured in 1863 and cut for a shoulder stock. Single line barrel address on top of the barrel, "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-". Two line patent address on left side of the frame, "COLTS / PATENT". Full matching serial numbers observed on the barrel assembly, frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Last four digits of the serial number observed on the arbor, wedge and on the side of the cylinder. There is a Naval battle scene rolled onto the cylinder. The one piece wood grip has a military cartouche on each side of the grip. There is no US stamping under the patent address. There are the correct inspectors marks in several different places on this gun. Case color frame, loading lever and hammer. Brass trigger guard. German silver blade front sight. CONDITION: This gun retains most of the original blue finish with brown patina starting to show through the blue. Case colors show some thinning but are vibrant in the protected areas. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. Grips show some wear and fit the gun very well. The action is tight and strong. A very high condition 1860 Army.
