Circa 2001. A nice dangerous game hunting rifle with 25 – 1/4” chopper lump blacked steel barrels. Barrels are appointed with ejectors, third fastener, side clips, spear point raised quarter rib, and ramped bladed front sight. Raised spearpoint quarter rib is machine filed and has been built with 1 standing and 2 folding leaf sights. All leaves with gold line markers and sights are designated at 50, 100 and 150 yards. Rib reads “470 N.E.” in gold. Front sight is machined filed and scroll engraved on ramp. Right barrel reads “AUG. LEBEAU-COURALLY A LIEGE – BELGIUM”. Left barrel reads “MADE FOR W.L. MOORE & Co SCOTTSDALE AZ”. Barrel flats marked “AUG. LEBEAU”, “FABI A LIEGE”. Bottom of barrels marked ".470 NITRO EXPRESS", "2700 BAR", and with proofs. Bottom rib with “45458” and loop for sling. Reinforced and case colored sidelock action with hidden third fastener, set disk strikers, side clips is also designated with gold-washed lifting bars and golden cocking indicators. The action is elegantly engraved with scrolls and floral bouquets. Bolsters engraved with leaf petals. Engraving orchestrated by “S. MASSIN” (signed alongside triggers). Double triggers are fire blued, and front trigger is articulated. The double rolled edged trigger guard is case color hardened with matched engraving and extends to a full length bottom strap. Top lever and slide safe are case hardened with matched engraving and checkered. “SAFE” is in gold. The nicely figured walnut stock with oil finish has been built with drop points, finely checkered pistol hand grip with grip cap. Grip cap is case hardened and engraved. Stock with beaded check piece, tapped for sling loop and finished by a black leather covered pad. Finely checkered splinter forend with Anson styled push button release, gold crest (near tip) and iron metal is case colored and engraved. Rifle resides in a brown leather “AUG. LEBEAU-COURALLY” motor case. Case with target and paperwork. Paperwork stating “BEST IN SHOW Gold Medal Concour d’Elegance of Fine Guns”. Rifle also comes with sling. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain all of their original black and rifling is sharp. Action, triggers and ejectors operate well to test. Stock and forend are very good with very slight handling indication. Case is good with some storage marks.
