Circa 1860s English made Bowie retailed during the American Civil War. Stag slab handles with silver shield escutcheon, German silver fittings, and partial scabbard. Blade has a 4 - 1/2" false edge, and is marked "ALEXANDER / SHEFFIELD" on the ricasso, and "N.Y." with a Union shield. CONDITION: Good, with heavily cleaned blade with sharpened edge.
