This lot consists of a portrait of President Woodrow Wilson. Depicted in this portrait is the President that only slightly turns his head and tilts it, while his body is at a three quarter profile. President Wilson dons a black suit coat with matching vest, a white collared shirt and a light blue tie. Behind his round glasses, the artist has depicted a kind, and gentle man. The artist has the President in front of a grayish green colored background. The artist signature is found on the upper left corner of the painting, "John Word Dansmare 1915." On the verso of the painting, there are two places where the painting has been repaired. There is also a note taped to the back of the frame saying, "June 1917. This picture to go to Philip H. Bunker, Truro, Mass., in case of my death." The painting is framed in a wooden frame with some gilt coloring and some areas deficient of that coloring. Overall the item is in good condition with normal wear present.
