A beautiful cast iron round number plate from L1s-class Mikado "2671," with separately applied numerals. This locomotive was built in 1918 by Baldwin Locomotive Works, construction no. 50820 and retired in 1956. The plate shows old black field paint with yellow/gold border and numerals. There is significant paint loss, fading and rust. Back of plate has newer black paint and "201445" and "X10010" embossed. There are three stud mounting positions as expected, each boss has been cut to the depth of the border, and two holes have been drilled at the horizontal centerline to accommodate display mounting.
