AGS CERTIFIED #10128. DST. Sign is Maker Marked The Novelty Advertising Co., Coshocton, Ohio. An outstanding example of one of the most sought after advertising pieces ever made for Gasoline & Motor Oils, most likely a New Old Stock example. This outstanding Flange Sign from Bruinoil & Bruin Gasoline shows outstanding colors and script throughout with "The Bear Of Them All" slogan as well as iconic Bear graphic. CONDITION: Side one is outstanding throughout showing an incredibly clean field with only the faintest amount of surface wear, nothing noteworthy or distracting. Side one shows minor rub marks at the upper left edge as wells some minor paint loss at the edges of the black flange portion. The lower edge of side one is excellent showing just light wear and overall displays incredibly well, (Score 91). Side two is also brilliant and outstanding showing phenomenal color & gloss with no notable field wear other than a few minor surface blemishes from storage. Side two shows one small scratch at the left edge as well as some minimal rub marks in the red border at the left edge. The remaining red edge is very clean and side two shows only a light amount of paint wear at the black edge near the flange, (Score 94). The flange portion of the sign is very clean showing only minor paint scuff at the mounting holes and limited surface wear. One of the finest examples of this Sign we have ever sold and a tough to upgrade example of this iconic piece of advertising from Bruinoil.
