14" two faced doll, patented by Bergner. This doll is different in that she has a fully articulated German wood and composition body with straight wrists and an unusual bisque head with no markings, however, the head is recognizably Simon & Halbig from the expression. There is a metal rasp at the top of the head and when turned, the head revolves inside a cardboard cone in the back, with a partial blond mohair wig showing in front. One face is smiling with unusually happy features and the other is on the verge of tears. The marbling on both faces is exceptional and there are no significant cheek rubs. Silk clothing is possibly original, at the least it is of the period.
Condition: (Very Good).
Item Dimensions: 14" T.
