Famed saddle maker Al Furstnow opened his shop in Miles City, Montana in 1884. He died in 1923 but the company continued until it closed in 1946. Commercial C-96 semi automatic pistols were quite a rarity in this country at that time so it is doubtful that his firm received very many orders for such an odd pistol but this example was made for a standard 5 - 1/2" C-96. It is made of quality saddle leather with a single loop, full skirt and border tooled. The large maker cartouche in square reads "AL FURSTNOW MILES CITY MONT". CONDITION: Excellent but the loop is detached on one side.
RARE AL FURSTNOW HOLSTER FOR A C96 MAUSER BROOMHANDLE PISTOL.
