This sign is either NOS or a reproduction. There is little evidence to show that this sign was ever mounted on a locomotive carbody. A Santa Fe "Chief" logo used on several models of first-generation diesels in the 1940s-1950s era. Paint and color on this example are superb. The brushed stainless is in excellent condition. A beautiful and iconic item for the Santa Fe.
